Oschad has financed over 800 diverse projects for communities

Oschadbank is a leader in financing municipalities and has maintained a market share of 50-60% since the beginning of the full-scale war. This was stated by Yuriy Katsion, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank in charge of corporate business, in the special project “EP-Chat” of Ekonomichna Pravda “What challenges have the war, lack of human capital and the return of Ukrainians home brought to communities?”

In 2024 alone, Oschadbank entered into loan agreements with municipalities worth more than UAH 1.8 billion.

“Over the past seven years, we have financed more than 800 programs for our communities. They include everything from repairing sidewalks to building innovative waste recycling plants,” said Oschadbank's Deputy Chairman of the Board.

For municipalities, the key areas of credit allocation during the war include ensuring uninterrupted supply of electricity and heat, energy efficiency measures to reduce heating and lighting costs, and infrastructure projects.

However, according to Yuriy Katsion, approaches to financing municipalities should be changed. “If earlier everything was focused solely on the ability of cities to attract and service loans based on the actual collection of funds in the form of taxes, now this approach should change. We need to give communities the opportunity to create new businesses, new added value, without bumping into these restrictions,” the banker believes.

Oschadbank is in dialogue with international partners to implement joint projects that would contribute to the economic development of communities, among other things. “International partners are ready to guarantee such loans, and banks are ready to finance them. We have enough desire and liquidity for this,” Yurii Katsion emphasized.
