The preliminary results of the My Export initiative, launched to support Ukrainian companies in expanding into international markets through concessional resources, training and relevant consultations, were discussed at a conference held yesterday in Kyiv. The project, which is being implemented by Oschadbank in cooperation with the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program, Nova Poshta, and the Office for Entrepreneurship and Export Development, has already attracted about 600 entrepreneurs. As part of this initiative, Oschadbank's clients have opened about 1,000 preferential accounts in foreign currency, which demonstrates the high interest and active participation of Ukrainian businesses in the program.
Besides zero tariffs for servicing foreign currency accounts and currency exchange transactions from Oschad, the My Export project provides an individual discount on foreign delivery and the abolition of customs brokerage fees from Nova Poshta, as well as the First Steps of an Exporter training program from the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program and the Office for Entrepreneurship and Export Development. As part of the initiative, legal entities engaged in foreign economic activity (FEA) receive legal advice from one of the Big Four companies, KPMG (KPMG-Ukraine LLC).
"My Export" plays an important role in helping Ukrainian micro, small and medium-sized businesses increase their presence in foreign markets. This is evidenced by the amount of export contracts concluded by the program participants (over UAH 1.2 billion in equivalent). The number of contracts is 426. During their participation in the project, its participants created more than 750 new jobs. I urge all interested entrepreneurs to join the program – the unique offer is valid until the end of July," said Natalia Butkova-Vitvitska, Oschadbank Board Member in charge of MSMEs.
In addition to the presentation of the program's results, conference participants from among the My Export initiators, business and government representatives shared their advice on how Ukrainian entrepreneurs can find a way to foreign markets for their products.
