Help superhumans regain their superpowers with Oschadbank: SuperCoins charity campaign launched

Oschadbank has become a partner of the #SuperCoins charity campaign initiated by the National Bank of Ukraine and the Superhumans Center, a modern clinic for prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, rehabilitation and psychological support for war victims.

To participate in the campaign, from September 9 to November 29, you need to collect coins in denominations of 10, 50 kopecks, and 1, 2, 5, and 10 hryvnias. These coins should be taken to the nearest Oschadbank branch and handed over to the bank's cash desk, informing them of your desire to participate in the campaign. Of course, you can also donate to the campaign with banknotes in circulation. Oschad will transfer the funds raised to the Superhumans Center for the needs of Ukrainian soldiers who suffered as a result of hostilities.   

“Ordinary coins that we hold in our hands every day can become a lifesaving support for those who need it and help to restore superpowers to our heroes. I appeal to young people, teachers and all citizens in general: support Ukrainian soldiers who have lost their limbs and make their adaptation easier. Each coin raised can improve the lives of those who gave part of themselves for the sake of Ukraine. Join the fundraiser and do good together!” urged Oleksii Shaban, Deputy Governor of the National Bank.

“As a team, we were very inspired by the NBU's idea because we were all once children collecting coins for a special occasion. Times have changed. Now, children's fees are also dedicated to a special occasion. But no longer about dreams of a bicycle or a new toy, but about a good cause. That's why we are happy to be able to literally turn money into steel limbs for our defenders together with the youth and the National Bank. This story is about much more than just raising money. It's about fostering the skill of helping and contributing to a common cause from school age. In addition to the fundraising, we will engage schools in discussions with children on how to live with people with war trauma: informing and shaping children's healthy reactions to people with metal limbs and scars on their faces. That is why, this project is of double importance to us,” commented Olha Rudnieva, CEO of Superhumans Center.

“Since the beginning of the war, facilitating the reintegration and rehabilitation of veterans has been one of Oschadbank's priorities. An important area of this activity is cooperation with the Superhumans Center. Together with MasterCard, Oschad equipped two wards there and financed the creation of a sterilization unit. The #SuperCoins campaign is another step in the cooperation between the bank and the rehabilitation center. We especially like the fact that it is mainly focused on young people, who can not only help a good cause but also show respect to the courageous defenders of Ukraine,” said Anton Tiutiun, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.

The campaign will also include educational events for educational institutions called Respect and Understand. These are conversations between teachers and children about the rules of communication and the ethics of communication with people with disabilities. The classes will focus on important ethical principles that will help avoid mistakes in communication.

The children will learn how to interact with respect, avoid stereotypes, use correct language and create an atmosphere of mutual understanding when communicating with people with disabilities. The talks will be conducted by teachers based on the materials developed by the Superhumans Center and the National Bank.  

The Coins of Gratitude competition will also be held, an educational initiative where educational institutions participating in the #SuperCoins campaign will create mosaics from the collected coins to express gratitude to the Ukrainian military who are defending Ukraine from the enemy. Entries may consist of drawings or photographs with some elements laid out or decorated with coins.
