Oschadbank will lend to energy infrastructure restoration projects

Oschad signed a corresponding memorandum with other leading Ukrainian banks in Kyiv at the Banking Forum organized by Ekonomichna Pravda yesterday, June 25, 2024.

The document provides, among other things, for the facilitation of business loans for the restoration of energy infrastructure. This includes the construction or purchase of power generators, uninterruptible power supplies, solar, wind, biogas, gas turbine and gas piston power plants, industrial batteries, cogeneration units for solid fuel boilers – everything needed for energy independence.

"This is our response to the existing challenges associated with the damage to the energy infrastructure as a result of Russia's armed aggression. Our financial offers are designed to meet the different needs of businesses –  from MSMEs to large businesses. In this way, our clients can reduce their risks, become energy self-sufficient, ensure business continuity, and reduce electricity and fuel costs," commented Sergii Naumov, Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.

Operating businesses of all sizes, from small companies to large enterprises, will be able to receive financing. The loan amount will depend on the business segment –  from 0.5 to 25 million euros. The loan term is expected to be 5–7 years. The client's own contribution will be from 10% to 50%, depending on the cost of the project, equipment, availability of a grant component, guarantee mechanism, and other conditions.

MSMEs can count on financial support from Oschadbank under the government's Affordable Loans 5-7-9% program, as well as take advantage of the EBRD's cooperation program and receive a loan with simplified collateral requirements and the possibility of receiving a cashback grant. Such a loan can be used for long-term investments in green technologies (energy-efficient equipment, solar panels for power plants to meet their own needs) that comply with European Union standards and will help increase the competitiveness of enterprises in domestic and foreign markets.
