Oschadbank presented a video report on the work of its branches “on wheels” in dangerous regions

Oschad News

In the winter of 2025, journalists of the Espresso TV channel, together with Sergii Naumov, CEO of Oschadbank, visited the frontline Sumy region to demonstrate how the Oschad branch “on wheels” works. For two days, they traveled along the route of the mobile unit, visiting the villages of Hlynsk, Romny district, and Kyrykivka, Okhtyrka district, near the border with Russia. Both communities have no stationary bank branches or ATMs. The most popular services here are cash withdrawals, utility bills and bank cards.

Sumy region consists of 51 amalgamated territorial communities, 22 of which are in the high military risk zone. 15 of them are served by the mobile unit of Oschad. Currently, settlements near the border suffer from constant shelling, and there are almost no bank branches in remote regions. Therefore, Oschadbank's mobile branches have become the only opportunity for local residents to receive social benefits, receive salaries, issue cards, perform necessary transactions and pay utility bills.

The mobile unit of Oschadbank “on wheels” in Sumy region travels several times a month with a cashier and security guards to remote areas where no other bank operates. The schedule, location and opening hours of the branch are agreed upon with local authorities and military administrations and adjusted depending on the security situation. The branches are equipped with satellite communications, alarm systems, autonomous power supply, video surveillance, fire extinguishing, air conditioning and ventilation systems.

The demand for financial services in frontline communities is high. Unfortunately, not all Ukrainians can use online banking. For many of them, Oschadbank “on wheels” is a real solution.

“Colleagues from frontline branches say that the return of Oschad to towns and villages is extremely important for their residents. I saw this with my own eyes when I visited Sumy region. Together with Oschad, people who need to receive pensions, transfers, and social benefits are returning to their communities. Life is returning to these villages. That is why we will continue to do our best to have as many branches as possible - especially in the frontline areas. We understand that this is not about big profits and not about making money. This is about social responsibility and support for Ukrainians who are in places where it is impossible to operate a branch where it is dangerous,” said Sergii Naumov, CEO of Oschadbank.

The project of mobile units “on wheels” is very important, as it is being implemented as part of the Oschad's My Accessibility program. Thanks to it, the bank provides banking services to those Ukrainians who were previously deprived of the opportunity to receive them, namely residents of dangerous or simply geographically remote areas.

Currently, Oschadbank's mobile branches operate in eight regions of Ukraine, where there is almost no infrastructure. In 2024, these mobile units mainly served Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions. This year, they were joined by two more vehicles in Dnipropetrovsk region and one in Mykolaiv region. Now, Oschad's mobile branches serve customers in 125 remote communities. Soon, two more vehicles will start operating in Zaporizhzhia and Odesa regions.
