Oschadbank offers municipalities support in rebuilding energy infrastructure

Oschad News

Over the past 6 years, Oschad, which is a leader in financing municipalities, has concluded loan agreements worth about UAH 7.7 billion for the development of regional infrastructure. However, only 2% of the total number of the projects financed were initiatives to provide heat and energy to communities, and only 4% were to modernize lighting systems.

The full-scale war and shelling of energy infrastructure and generation facilities have made the issue of energy efficiency and energy infrastructure development much more urgent. Oschadbank is ready to finance them, including under the program "Affordable Loans 5-7-9%".

A sociological survey conducted by the Resource and Analysis Center showed that almost 60% of citizens want Ukrainian cities to be rebuilt on the basis of energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.

"Today, even with martial law restrictions on expenditures, local authorities have the opportunity to raise funds to develop local generation with due regard to regional peculiarities and to improve energy efficiency in communities. Oschadbank can offer opportunities for both local borrowing and financing on the basis of local guarantees. These financial instruments are already available not only to regional and city councils, but also to village and rural councils, and we see a demand for the implementation of such projects in the regions from local authorities and businesses," said Yuriy Katsion, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank in charge of corporate business, one of the future speakers at the Ukrainian Energy Security Dialogue conference.

How local communities and cities can become energy independent will be discussed on December 12, 2023, at the annual Ukrainian Energy Security Dialogue conference "Resilience and Recovery”. For this purpose, the DiXi Group think tank brings together Ukrainian, European and American stakeholders. The conference will explore solutions and actions that will help strengthen the resilience of Ukraine's energy system and shape a vision of a common energy future for the entire European region.
