Oschadbank to issue loans to farmers for field demining
Oschad News
Thanks to Oschadbank's new Sowing Season Without Mines product, agricultural producers in the deoccupied territories and even in the area close to hostilities can receive up to UAH 150 million in loans to pay for the services of certified mine action operators to clear agricultural land.
The interest rate on the loan is up to 3% per annum in hryvnia for a term of up to 3 years with a grace period of up to 12 months, when the principal amount may be waived. The loan is available without collateral, but the owner's guarantee is required.
"Mine clearance is very expensive, but it is vital for farmers, because you can't sow anything on a mined field. Therefore, it is important to return the land on the deoccupied territories to the use of agricultural enterprises as soon as possible. That is why we have developed a new loan product for Ukrainian farmers and are ready to support the sowing campaign on favorable terms for them," said Natalia Butkova-Vitvitska, Oschadbank Board Member in charge of micro, small and medium-sized businesses.
A special feature of the product is the possibility of combining it with government programs, under which Oschad actively finances agricultural clients. These are the "Affordable Loans 5-7-9%" and the portfolio guarantee program, which significantly liberalizes collateral requirements.
To meet the needs of farmers, including the sowing campaign, as of mid-November, Oschadbank has provided more than 4,000 loans totaling UAH 10 billion. Supporting agrarian business as part of ensuring the country's food security is one of the strategic directions of Oschad's work during the full-scale war.
