Oschadbank opened an inclusive branch at Kyiv Central Railway Station

Oschad News

Today, with the support of Ukrzaliznytsia, an inclusive branch of Oschadbank was opened at the Kyiv railway station.

The branch is located in the concourse between the Central and South stations, next to the escalator. An elevator on the first platform of the station, located near the service center, will provide unimpeded access to the branch for people in wheelchairs and other people with limited mobility.

The branch was built as part of Oschadbank's own inclusive program “My Accessibility” and designed in compliance with state construction standards for the inclusiveness of buildings and structures. Oschad's new inclusive space has a lowered customer service area, and is equipped with automated cash registers, an ATM with a voice module, crutch holders, an information stand with Braille, etc.

“Kyiv Central Railway Station is now the main transport gateway of the country. The daily passenger flow at the station exceeds 60 thousand people, and we are pleased that Oschadbank is now present in such an important location. It is important for us that all groups of customers, including people with disabilities, can be served in this institution. We have done everything possible to make this branch a worthy business card of the Ukrainian banking system for those people who visit Ukraine, as well as for Ukrainians who will return home from abroad,” commented Sergii Naumov, Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.

“The opening of a new branch at the main railway station of the country is another step in the strategic cooperation between the two major companies: Ukrzaliznytsia and Oschadbank. From now on, customers can make payments and transfers, exchange currencies (US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, Swiss francs and Polish zlotys are available for exchange), open deposits or perform any transactions with payment cards in a comfortable environment. Here, customers can buy numismatic products, take out an insurance policy and much more,” said Anton Tiutiun, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.

“We continue to systematically develop our railway stations in terms of providing passengers with services of first priority. In particular, open tenders have already been held at the country's main station to lease space for a bank and a bookstore, and soon new modern coffee shops and a full-fledged food court will appear here. We look at the railway station holistically as a place where any type of our passenger - a family with children, a veteran with a disability or a foreign diplomat - can spend quality time waiting for their train trip. That is why we place special emphasis on barrier-free accessibility and open dialogue with the market at the stage of forming the targeted use of space and requirements for it,” commented Oleksandr Pertsovsky, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia.

“The main railway station of the country is a place of joy from meetings and despair from separation. A place where we can feel stress because of a long journey or fatigue from heavy luggage. Ukrzaliznytsia sees such different passengers every day, and as it builds barrier-free access, it learns to see different needs as well. This time, together with Oschadbank. I am pleased that the opened bank branch is a collaborative project of two like-minded people - members of the Business Without Barriers community, united around the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska,” said Oksana Zbitneva, head of the NGO Bezbariernist, head of the CMU's Mental Health Coordination Center.

The branch will be open daily from 7:00 to 21:30 and around the clock in a self-service format. The financial institution will provide services even in the event of a prolonged power outage.
